VVO Group to convert an office building into rental apartments in Helsinki’s Kamppi district

VVO Kodit Oy has signed a contract with MM-Yritysrakentaja Oy regarding the conversion of the office building located at Lönnrotinkatu 30 in Helsinki, known as Eliaksentalo, into rental apartments and business premises.

Work on the Eliaksentalo property, centrally located in Helsinki’s Kamppi district, will begin in November 2016. The building, which stands on its own plot, will hold 41 privately financed high-quality Lumo rental apartments with an average floor area of 53.6 dwelling m2. The building will also have two units of business premises at street level.

Car sharing for residents

The property has excellent public transport connections nearby. The building’s residents will have access to a car-share vehicle that will have a designated space in the building’s indoor car park. The facilities at the property will also include a sauna, a washing house, bicycle storage and a club room.

The conversion of the building is estimated to be completed in December 2017.

Modern urban living

VVO Group creates modern urban living. The conversion of Kotkankatu 9, located next to the Linnanmäki amusement park in Helsinki’s Alppila district, from a commercial property into a residential property was completed in summer 2015.

“When you renovate existing building stock to create something new, you get the best of both worlds: all the latest technology, a sense of community and all the charm of the historic building. This is what we want to achieve with the Eliaksentalo property,” says Anna Ritonummi, Project Manager at VVO Group.
