VVO Group came third in the Responsible Summer Job competition

The Responsible Summer Job campaign has again rewarded the most responsible summer job employers in Finland. A total of 95 employers joined the Responsible Summer Job 2016 competition, and responses were provided by 5,036 summer workers. There were 80 employers participating in the major organisation category. Summer workers evaluated their employers on the basis of the application process, orientation training, meaningful tasks and equality, among other things. The housing investment company VVO Group plc came third in the major employer category. The construction company Peab Oy came first and the forest machine company Ponsse Plc second.

The jury’s assessment states, among other things, that VVO Group’s performance is consistently solid in nearly all aspects.

The handling of matters related to employment contracts and the high level of overall satisfaction brought the company into the top 3 in the major company category. In particular, summer workers’ impression of the candidate experience was exceptionally positive: VVO Group’s candidate experience is the best in the company’s category.

“Responsible HR management is an important starting point for us and we want to meet expectations in this regard. Our goal is to offer our summer workers the best opportunities to participate in meaningful work and in developing our way of working. The summer workers have been involved in all development work, such as the building of service concepts, and thus they have contributed to the company’s evolution with their ideas. This year, we also looked into the candidate experience of those who were not recruited in order to improve our operations for everyone’s benefit,” says Eeva Reponen, VVO Group’s HR Manager.

“The working atmosphere is particularly good and I have been included in the team really well.”

In addition to the good rating in the competition, the company is especially pleased about the comments that the summer workers provided in the open-answer questions:

“People listen to me, I can give feedback and influence things!”
“The working atmosphere is particularly good and I have been included in the team really well.”
“Trust in employees is good and I can work independently, a positive experience.”

“We are delighted with and grateful for this feedback, this is exactly what we have been pursuing. Of course, thanks to our entire personnel who have, year after year, welcomed all new employees and summer workers warmly and with enthusiasm,” notes Reponen.

This summer, VVO Group recruited more than forty summer workers in Helsinki and eight other locations throughout Finland. The summer workers got the chance to work in functions such as sales, house management, technical management, customer service, office services, accounts payable, rental control, financing and accounting.
