Press release 2 September 2019

The Lumo grant application period is 1–30 September 2019

The Lumo grant programme is again open for applications from 1 to 30 September 2019. The programme is aimed at supporting the hobbies of young athletes as well as their journey to success.

The grants are available to promising young athletes between the ages of 12 and 20 who have already engaged in active sports as a member of a sports club and who need financial support for their hobby. Lumo’s and VVO’s tenants are given priority in the selection. Grants are awarded for both team and individual sports. The grant can be used for season fees, camps or equipment, for instance.

You can apply for a grant by filling in the form at https://www.lyyti.fi/reg/Lumostipendihakemus_syksy_2019_0481

Further information about applying for the grant is provided in Kojamo’s online and social media channels. Kojamo is looking forward to receiving many applications – a total of 25 grants will be awarded.

Launched in 2012, the Lumo sponsorship and grant programme promotes wellbeing through physical activity by awarding grants and sponsorship to young, promising athletes.

Lumo sponsorship and grants support young people’s physical activity and top Finnish athletes

The Lumo sponsorship and grant programme supports top Finnish athletes as well as individual and team sports for young people. In 2019, the sponsored individual athletes are Anna Haataja (orienteering, long-distance running), Joona Kangas (ski slopestyle), Henry Manni (wheelchair racing), Oskari Mörö (400m hurdles), Nooralotta Neziri (100m hurdles) and Emmi Parkkisenniemi (snowboarding).

In addition to sponsoring individuals, the programme also includes a team sponsorship partnership that continues with the Helsinki Figure Skating Club. In 2019, three synchronised skating teams competing at the national championships level (Helsinki Rockettes, Team Fintastic, Finettes and Novettes) as well as four Academy groups will be included in the programme. The sponsorship application period will begin in autumn 2019.
