The first residents of the Lumo One skyscraper got to move into their new homes at the turn of June and July. Lumo has ensured a smooth move-in through careful preparations and by offering residents services that make moving in easier.
The first moving trucks arrived at the Lumo One skyscraper on Monday, 27 June 2022, when the lower floors of the building were completed.
A lot of preparations had been made to ensure a smooth move-in. Residents were given an opportunity to book their own moving time in advance from an electronic booking calendar. Depending on the size of the apartment, a slot of one to one and a half hours could be booked.
Representatives of Lumo Homes have been on call from Monday to Friday, morning to night to ensure a smooth move-in for the residents.
“We had reserved co-ordinated move-in time from Monday to Friday and scheduled residents’ move-ins to ensure that there would be no congestion in front of the house, in the elevator or in the stairwell,” says Casper Westerinen, the property manager.
The moves were carried out in co-operation with the City of Helsinki and the contractor (SRV). The street in front of the building was reserved for the residents’ moving trucks and a large skip bin was brought close to the building. Hand trucks had been booked for moving goods in an agile way, and the new residents also had access to services that make moving easier. The entire move could be outsourced using Lumo services, if the residents so wished.
“The move-ins went as planned and we can happily look forward to the next wave of them,” says Laura Koiranen, Regional Director of Lumo Homes, thanking everyone who has participated in the move.
Floors 14–31 of the skyscraper will be completed on 1 September 2022 and the rest of the residents will be able to move into their new homes in late August. The common areas on the 29th floor of the building will also be completed at the same time.
The Lumo One skyscraper still has some vacant apartments available for rent on the Lumo webstore. During the summer, open house events will be held, offering a glimpse of the unique Lumo life above the city.
