Kojamo plc’s Annual Report for 2022 published
Kojamo has published its Annual Report for 2022, which includes the company’s sustainability report. The Annual Report provides information about Kojamo’s business operations, operating environment and the progress of the strategy and sustainability work.
Kojamo’s Annual Report for 2022 has been published, and it is available at kojamo.fi/annualreport2022. In addition to the Annual Report, the annual reporting consists of the Board of Directors’ Report, Financial Statements, Corporate Governance Statement and Remuneration Report, published on 15 February 2023.
The Annual Report includes Kojamo’s Sustainability Report, which describes the company’s sustainability commitments and targets and the progress of the sustainability work.
Strategic sustainability work in line with the targets
In the company’s sustainability programme, Kojamo is committed to carbon-neutral energy consumption at its properties by 2030. The company’s sustainability work continued in line with the targets in 2022.
Good results have been achieved with the actions aimed at energy efficiency and emission reductions; for example, the apartment-specific carbon footprint, which is a key sustainability indicator for Kojamo, decreased for the fourth consecutive year. In 2022, Kojamo also launched new services that enable the residents of Lumo homes to lead a sustainable lifestyle: a carbon footprint test and a new zero-carbon heating service.
Kojamo and Lumo homes also participated in the nationwide Down a Degree energy saving campaign by carrying out an extensive communications campaign for our residents that involved the sharing of practical energy saving tips throughout the heating season.
Comprehensive sustainability reporting and assurance
Kojamo aims at high-quality and comprehensive sustainability reporting. The company applies the GRI Standards and EPRA sBPR frameworks in its reporting and participates annually in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) survey.
In 2022, Kojamo increased transparency with regard to the climate-related risks associated with its operations by improving its reporting in accordance with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. Kojamo also reported on the EU taxonomy eligibility and alignment of its activities for the past year on a voluntary basis.
The external assurance engagement for Kojamo’s 2022 Sustainability Report was carried out by KPMG Oy Ab. Certain sustainability performance indicators concerning energy consumption, water consumption, emissions and the personnel were subject to external assurance. The independent assurance report is provided as part of the Annual Report.
