New Lumo homes are currently being built in the place of Puotila's old shopping centre. However, the shopping centre's range of services will not be disappearing, as several business premises will be completed at the street level of the new residential building. Familiar businesses from the old shopping centre will be moving to these premises.
In addition to 113 Lumo rental apartments, a number of diverse business premises will be built on the site of the old Puotila shopping centre, which was demolished in 2022, at Klaavuntie 11. The new Lumo building on Klaavuntie is being built at a central location in Puotila, and some of the familiar restaurants and shops from the old shopping centre will continue to serve the residents of the area.
The new building will have a total of six business premises, and all of these will be filled by businesses from the old shopping centre when the building is completed in 2024. The new premises will have a grocery store, a kiosk and several restaurants.
