VVO Group has recruited over 40 employees for this summer who will soon begin work in Helsinki and eight other VVO Home Centre localities around Finland. This year, the company received a record number of summer job applications, over 4,000, and, as in previous years, in relation to the total number of staff, almost 15% of summer workers were recruited.
VVO Group is participating in the Responsible Summer Job (Vastuullinen kesäduuni) campaign for the third time, making itself known among the future professionals of the industry. The company takes pride in offering meaningful and rewarding duties to summer workers, handling the recruitment process smoothly, providing sufficient orientation training and guidance, treating everyone fairly and equally, paying wages that correspond with the level of difficulty of the task, and providing proper employment contracts and references—in other words, being an exemplary and responsible employer for the summer workers as well.
Summer workers work, for example, as service advisors, sales representatives, house managers and in financial administration-related positions. There are many types of work available that support studies in the field. Eager and diligent summer workers bring their own insights and new energy to the company, providing the employer with an opportunity to renew and fresh ideas.
As in previous years, the applications showed that applicants were filled with enthusiasm and willingness to show their skills in real work life situations.
– It is great to see how young people already know how to present their energy and expertise in their applications. Diverse activities, also during free time and in school, are the best way to develop and they also promote working life skills.
