VVO Group is renovating 58 Lumo rental apartments in Sauvakatu 2 in the vicinity of the centre of Järvenpää. The buildings and apartments will have a completely new, fresh look as they are renovated both inside and out.
The renewed apartments range from studios to four-room apartments. All the apartment surfaces will be renewed during the renovation. The kitchen and closet furniture will be renewed and the kitchens will have a dishwasher, among other things. The new floor materials are easily maintained laminate, and the bathrooms are tiled.
An extensive HVACE renovation will be carried out in the properties to renew the water pipes, drains and electrical installations of the building. Ventilation will be enhanced and the heating system will be repaired. The facade of the building will be painted and the yard areas renewed. The shared facilities, such as the sauna and the clubroom, will be renovated for the use of the residents.
The total repair costs and modernisation investments of the VVO Group during the previous review period amounted to EUR 51.0 million, of which modernisation investments accounted for EUR 23.6 million.

The Pajala area under renewal is situated about one kilometre from the city centre. The area in-cludes a primary school and a secondary school, a shop and diverse sporting opportunities, such as a swimming hall which is situated in the immediate vicinity of the buildings. The area is a short distance away from the railway station.
The new Lumo homes will be completed in two sets in May–June 2017. NHK Rakennus Oy is in charge of the construction work at the site.
