The Lumo sponsorship programme introduces new faces and brings in familiar athletes from previous years

The athletes sponsored by Lumo in 2025 are Kuura Koivisto, Elina Lampela, Henry Manni, Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis.

With the help of the sponsorship programme, Kojamo supports athletes with the potential to make it to the very top. Launched in 2012, the programme promotes the well-being of Finns through exercise.

In 2025, wheelchair sprinter Henry Manni and ice dance pair Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis will continue in the Lumo sponsorship programme. They represent long-term cooperation in line with the goal of the sponsorship programme.

This year, the new talents to join the Lumo sponsorship programme are freestyle skier Kuura Koivisto and pole vaulter Elina Lampela. Both have already proven that they are on the way to becoming world leaders in their respective sports.

Kuura Koivisto — multi-talented skier

Kuura Koivisto started skiing at the age of three and has competed in freestyle skiing since the age of 13. Today, Kuura competes in Big Air and Slopestyle in World Cups and other major competitions. He aims to participate in the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

"I am really excited to launch the Lumo cooperation. Lumo provides huge support on my journey and allows me to focus on the essential: skiing," says Kuura.

Elina Lampela — the rising star of pole vaulting

Elina Lampela has been involved in athletics since she was nine. After just a few years of trying out various options, she chose pole vaulting as her main sport. Lampela made her international breakthrough at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and has since represented Finland in all major outdoor competitions. In 2024, she finished fourth in the European Championships and made the finals in the Paris Olympics.

"I look forward to our cooperation. Lumo enables me to pursue my dreams in my sports career. I am very grateful to be able to partner with Lumo homes," says Lampela.

Henry Manni — a successful wheelchair sprinter

Henry Manni is a T34 class wheelchair sprinter who has achieved exceptional international success. Manni was inspired to take up disability sport in 2004 after Leo-Pekka Tähti won his Paralympic gold medal. Manni’s achievements include seven World Championship medals, ten European Championship golds and Paralympic bronze from Rio de Janeiro 2016. He also holds 200 and 400 metre European records as well as numerous Finnish records.

"Lumo is my longest-standing cooperation partner, and our cooperation has remained strong for more than a decade. It's hard to put into words how much I appreciate this exceptionally long partnership. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future," says Manni.

Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis — leading ice dance pair

Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis are the leading ice dance pair in Finland. Both were successful solo ice skaters before moving on to ice dance. They started their internationally successful cooperation in 2016. The pair’s achievements include European Championship bronze in 2023 and several awards from international competitions, such as the Grand Prix Series. They also represented Finland at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.

"We consider the Lumo cooperation to be very important, as the support enables us to aim for the top of ice dance and prepare for the Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina. We are very grateful for this long-term partnership," say Turkkila and Versluis.
