Lumo to crowdsource a new housing concept at InnoDay

Lumo, VVO Group’s brand for the sustainable housing of the future, challenges young people to generate ideas for new housing services and create new kinds of tenant cooperation and communality around housing companies, city blocks and neighbourhoods. The new Lumo housing concept to be launched on the market in 2016 will be announced by crowdsourcing it at InnoDay, the world’s largest event for crowdsourced innovation involving young people, organised by Innokampus.

The InnoDay event to be held on 11 May 2016 will see some 10,000 young people from across Finland gather at Hartwall Arena, Helsinki, to share their ideas. At the event, the young participants will solve challenges from 100 companies and find inspiration to make their own dreams come true. The highlight of the InnoDay event will be an innovation show in which the sharpest young minds and best business ideas will receive awards from Hjallis Harkimo’s Business Campus. Hartwall Arena will also be full of inspiring coaching corners that provide young people with tools for generating ideas and achieving business success.

“Listening to the customer is integral to our effort to build a high-quality housing brand. Through our Lumo Kotinyt.fi service, we want to give our customers more freedom when it comes to renting an apartment. We are now taking this idea of shifting power to the customer a little further. We are piloting a concept for a new type of Lumo apartment in which the customer can influence the end result,” says Juha Heino, Director of Customer Relations at VVO Group plc.
