Lumo Homes gamify the development of housing services at InnoDay

The world’s largest innovation event for young people, InnoDay, will be held in Suvilahti, Helsinki, on 10 May 2017. Organised by Innokampus, InnoDay brings together young people and companies to discuss innovations, leadership and entrepreneurship. At the event, young people will solve challenges from the companies and learn how to come up with and present their own ideas and innovations. This is the second time Lumo Homes is participating in the event.

– Last year, we launched a new housing concept called Lumo Kompakti and received great ideas from the young participants on how to develop the concept further. The first Lumo Kompakti homes will be built in Tikkurila, Vantaa. Lumo Kompakti homes have all the elements that are needed in small apartments: efficient use of space, adaptable layout, sense of space, and functionality, says Juha Heino, Director of Customer Relations.

Housing services make housing a dream

The Kattilahalli event venue in Suvilahti will feature a range of presentations on current phenomena and interesting themes such as digitisation, management, IoT, sales and marketing. This year, the event will offer learning paths that approach new ideas and innovations through gamification. Lumo Homes is developing a game for the event where the player combines elements to create a rental home that represents their personality. The housing solutions and services that can be selected in the game are on display at the Lumo Homes stand.

– The Lumo apartment game allows players to select from three quality levels. They can also modify their home with various housing services, some of which are free and others subject to a charge. We also ask the young players to justify their choices, because we want to understand how our customers will want to live in the future and what kinds of services we should offer them in order to make housing a dream.

Innokampus is a think tank for young people and a national network for crowdsourced innovation. Lumo Homes has cooperated with Innokampus closely in the fields of housing and housing services. In 2017, the cooperation will focus on strategic marketing communication, customer experience in different channels, and the development of the service experience at Lumo-kotikeskus.
