Nuolialantie 44 B in Tampere is on VVO Group’s Building of the Year 2016.
VVO Group plc and the Board of Residents present an annual award to the residents of a VVO house for exemplary community spirit and management of their shared living environment. Nuolialantie 44 B was selected due to very active resident activities and the participation of the residents in organised events.
– The operations of the house committee are a great example of organising activities and events suitable for all by listening to the opinions of the residents. Sense of community and taking your neighbours into consideration are some of the particular strengths of this building. The weekly res-idents’ events of the senior house and, for instance, Christmas dinners for those living alone have been highly praised, says Regional Manager Kirsi Tuomisto from the VVO Home Centre in Tampere.

Honourable mention goes to Vantaa
Maauunintie 25 in Vantaa received an honourable mention. The residents have a strong spirit of working together, and there is always a large number of participants in the building’s volunteering events. There is an abundance of activities organised for both children and adults. The atmosphere among the residents is excellent and cooperation with the house manager is exemplary.
According to house manager Marko Hattunen, the residents are correct in stating that “the old house has plenty of spirit regardless of its age”.
The Building of the Year 2016 and the building that received an honourable mention were awarded at the regional Housing Day event in Vantaa on 23 April 2016. The Building of the Year award has been given out since 1995.
