Uuno Kailaan katu 5 in Espoo’s Vermonniitty neighbourhood is one of the newest Lumo buildings in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Nearly 60 per cent of all Lumo homes are located in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The rest are located in other major growth centres in the Tampere, Turku, Kuopio and Lahti regions as well as Oulu and Jyväskylä.
As a frontrunner in urban housing, Lumo provides housing not only in central locations, but also in entirely new residential areas, which brings life to cities and supports urbanisation.
Vermonniitty combines nature and services
Vermonniitty is a good example of the development of urban housing in new areas. The urban and modern Vermonniitty has been built on sparsely populated land next to Leppävaara. The area combines services, transport links and nature. It is a peaceful and natural environment that benefits from the proximity of the outdoor recreational areas of Tali, a golf course and the seashore in Laajalahti. Another example is the Lumo Caretaker service developed in collaboration with our partners. We now have a Lumo Caretaker assigned to each of our properties in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area to ensure the comfort of tenants,” says Chief Development Officer Teemu Suila.
“Tenant cooperation at Lumo homes these days takes place through Lumo teams formed by the tenants. Our various housing services also support a strong sense of community at Lumo buildings. On the ground floor at Uuno Kailaan katu 5, tenants have access to multi-purpose facilities, laundry and drying rooms, three shared saunas as well as apartment-specific storage facilities, outdoor equipment storage rooms and storage space for prams. The opportunity to use car sharing services is another useful benefit,” says Kristian Björksten, head of the newly constructed properties team.
